Hiring Right


As talent becomes the key frontier on which organisations compete, the ability to select and hire the right candidate for the job has become even more critical. In this application oriented microworkshop, participants will master technical and behavioural interviewing techniques.

This is an intense, hands-on, and mastery focused workshop. Participants will learn the nuances of the interviewing techniques through role plays, videos, and activities. At the end of the workshop, participants will undertake an online simulated assessment where they will be required to conduct two interviews (behavioural and technical). Participants will receive a certificate of proficiency at the end of the workshop.

Program Outline

  • Skill drill 1: Cognitive Biases that Impact Interviews:

    In this skill drill, we will explore the impact of cognitive biases on evaluation and assessment. We will explore 5 biases:

    • Confirmation Bias
    • Affinity Bias
    • Halo Effect
    • Stereotypes
    • Prejudices
  • Skill drill 2: Behavioural Event Interviewing:

    In this skill drill, we will:

    • Develop appreciation for the Behavioural Event Interviewing (BEI) process
    • Apply the BEI process using the STAR technique
  • Skill drill 3: Technical and Functional Interviewing

    In this skill drill, we will:

    • Explore the 5Ws process for conducting technical interviews
    • Apply the 5Ws process
  • Skills Drill 4: Proficiency assessment:

    Participants will be required to conduct a series of online, simulated interviews. Based on their ability to apply the 5Ws approach and the STAR technique, participants will receive a detailed proficiency report card at the end of the simulations.


  • Qualitative: Learner self report through an online survey. Assignment/proficiency assessment at the end of the workshop.
