About this Role

We are looking for passionate writers and designers who can turn learning concepts and principles into highly engaging, interactive and fun learning games and game-based group processes. The job role includes designing and creating boardgames (physical and digital), card games, narrative games, group processes, role playing games, and gamified learning material.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the learning need, learner challenges, learning environment, objectives, and outcomes
  • Follow the game design process to develop original designs and ideas
  • Build rapid prototypes
  • Conduct play tests and iteratively improve the game
  • Write instructions and detailed user and player guides
  • Write case studies, scenarios, storylines for the characters of the game
  • Use various internal and external technology platforms to bring the games to life

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to listen deeply and document thoroughly
  • Ability to think in games (mechanics, narratives, core progression, feedback loops, levels)
  • Ability to work within strict timelines
  • Ability to work in teams virtually
  • Excellent written, verbal, and inter personal communication
  • Ability to work in highly dynamic environment with high degree of ambiguity
  • Ability to write, edit and proof-read quality written content for a variety of medium
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Openness to feedback from test groups and learners

What will be a Plus

  • Understanding of adult learning principles
  • Background in psychology
  • Past experience in designing games and particularly boardgames

Preferred Qualifications: Any graduate – BA/MA in Psychology or Information Design/Game Design  or Communication (preferred not required)
