About This Course
Managers and leaders often undervalue the importance of trust. Trust is like oxygen for teams. Its presence boosts performance and its absence leads to animosity, deep resentment, and degrades performance. This Skill Café virtual and gamified workshop is targeted at helping participants understand and practice the 8 trust building behaviours in order to lead more engaged and productive teams.
At the end of the module, Managers will be able to:
- Create an environment of performance driven by trust
- Apply the 8 trust building behaviours
- Create a positive team environment
Skill Drill 1: Discover the 8 Trust Building Behaviours
In this session, participants discover the importance of trust through a short group process. Then, they explore the 8 trust building behaviours using the Toyota NUMMI case study.
The 8 trust building behaviours are:
- What you preach
- Timely and consistent feedback
- Giving credit
- An environment of mutual respect
- Openness, transparency and seeking inputs
- Information and expertise
- Maintaining confidentiality
- A safe space
Skill Drill 2: Explore the 8 Trust Building Behaviours
This session is driven using an online and competitive simulation. In this simulation, participants work in teams to play the role of a Manager who is leading a large team. Participants encounter situations that they need to resolve while keeping the 8 trust building behaviours in mind. The ultimate goal for each team is to raise the level of trust in the team while ensuring that goals and targets are achieved.
Skills Drill 3: Reflection and Summary
A guided session to share learning and insights from the workshop. Participants complete their learning journal and action plan.
